Fall 2009
Dear Friends,
The last several months have been extremely energizing for me as I learn the depth and breadth of the impact that has been made to the mission and ministries of the Church through the Foundation. I have spent much time listening to the voices of the greater Church, seeking opinions, eliciting healthy criticism and excellent ideas. Engaging in dialogue with people in the pews, pastors, middle governing bodies, the denomination's great colleges and seminaries, other Presbyterian agencies and the General Assembly has been personally stimulating. From this interaction, I can conclude that we truly are all members of a connectional church. How we relate to each other matters. Simply stated, as doors are opened, trust builds. I would like to take this opportunity to assure you that the Foundation is in good economic condition and I am optimistic about its future and the future of the deonomination.
As we are at the beginning of our season of Thanksgiving and leading to the celebration of the birth of Jesus, I hope you will find the opportunity to reflect and be thankful for all your blessings. It is often during this reflection that individuals also consider the stewardship of their resources to support the mission and ministries throughout the Church.
"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms."
